How to Load the Full Version of a Website on your iPad/Smartphone!

I remember the days when my iPad automatically loaded the full version of a website... then I upgraded to IOS6 and all of a sudden the whole internet thought my iPad was a mobile device... yikes!!!

Unfortunately, there's no magic setting to switch the iPad back to the way it was before the update, but there are lots of ways you can load the full version of a website on your iPad!

Here's the poll for those of you keeping track!  And, for those of you who haven't been able to vote from your iPad/smartphone, do this tutorial now to load the poll so you can vote for next week! :)

There are three different options that you can use to load the full version of the site... and here they are!

You can download this tutorial as a PDF by clicking this picture!
Note: This tutorial is hosted on Google Docs.  To save it from there, just open the file and click File > Download to save onto your computer!

For next week's poll, I'm going to add another iPad tutorial: how to take a screenshot on your iPad/iPhone... something that was necessary for me to write this week's tutorial!

How to Place a Pattern Over Text in PowerPoint!

I have to say, when I realized how easy it was to put a pattern over text right in PowerPoint I was floored!  I had been doing it in Photoshop forever and it's much more time consuming!

More than half of the votes were for how to give text a pattern/texture!

If you're looking for some textures to put over your text, scroll to the end of the document to grab three free textures!

You can download this tutorial as a PDF by clicking this picture!
Note: This tutorial is hosted on Google Docs.  To save it from there, just open the file and click File > Download to save onto your computer!

Now, for your three free textures!

To save the files, just click the image to get to the higher quality picture, then right click (or Mac: Ctrl + Click) to save the image onto your computer!

As for next week's tutorial, I'll be adding a Smart Notebook option... how to "Erase to Reveal" an answer.

How to Copy HTML/Embed Code to Your Blog!

This week was a three way tie on the poll... I was beyond shocked!!!  I was especially surprised since this is the first time there was a tie!  Since there was a tie, I blogged about the item that had been on the poll the longest, which was how to add html/embed code to your blog post!

Here's the poll:

It'll be interesting to see which wins the poll next week.  In the meantime, here is a short and sweet tutorial that shows how to copy that embed code to your blog post!

1.5 Space Your Text!

Does it leave a little bit too much space in between your lines when you double space it?  If so, you may want to 1.5 space your text!  This keyboard shortcut works perfect in Microsoft Word!

Make a Transparent or Semi-Transparent Text Box!

Happy New Year everyone!!!  I am so excited to be writing up the first Technology Tuesday tutorial on the very first day of 2013!  The winner of this week's poll was how to make text boxes that are transparent and semi-transparent/translucent!

This week's poll was pretty spread out, but this choice was the clear winner!

I've outline how to do this in both PowerPoint and Word!  Enjoy!

Note: This tutorial is hosted on Google Docs.  To save it from there, just open the file and click File > Download to save onto your computer!

For next week's poll, I'm going to add an iPad/smartphone tutorial.  Lately when I've been visiting blogs on my iPad, the mobile version of the blog has been loading, and it doesn't look as pretty!  So, I'll be adding how to change the view so it shows the full version of the blog you're visiting!
